Certificate in SelfDesign

The SelfDesign Foundation offers a Certificate Program for learners who want to explore SelfDesign, its meanings and applications, but who do not at this time want to complete a Master of Arts Program.

The Certificate Program includes the following components:

  • Participation in the First Year August Residency and enrollment in SD 500: SelfDesign—Principles and Praxis
  • Enrollment in SD 501: Modes of Inquiry
  • Enrollment in SD 502: Epistemological Foundations of Learning
  • Three additional courses or Directed Studies were chosen by the learner

Admission to the Certificate Program does not require a prior B.A. or B.S. degree. Each applicant will be considered individually.

Tuition for each course or directed study is the same amount as for matriculating learners.

Certificate learners will participate in the Residency and courses as fully engaged learners. All Institute rights and responsibilities will apply to Certificate learners, except for matriculation requirements.

On completion of the Certificate Program, Certificate learners may apply for admission to the Institute’s M.A. Program. Learners who have previously earned a B.A. or B.S. and who have completed the Certificate Program in good standing will likely be admitted to the M.A. Program.
